Cuumulo Nymbis | AI Compliance for South African FSPs

The Solution That Makes
AI Usage Safe

No Data Leaks. Full Data Residency. No Model Training.

With AI being a necessary tool to get work done, many employees are already sharing sensitive client information with various AI tools.

This puts IT in a tough position. Because under Section 19 of POPIA, a business must implement technical measures to protect client data.

The problem is that most IT teams assume they have this covered when it comes to AI usage. They do not.

A proper technical measure is not an enterprise agreement or a policy document. It is infrastructure built around the AI your staff already use. One that controls how data flows, where it is processed, and who has access to what.

That is exactly what Cuumulo is.

The technical measure every business needs.

Cuumulo is not another LLM. It is the infrastructure layer built around the AI tools your teams already use. Your staff get one platform and access to 10+ frontier models (GPT-5.5, Claude, Gemini, Veo 3.1, and more), with your data stored and managed within a local cloud.

Your data stays in South Africa. Your staff keep the tools they rely on. And you get the technical measure that meets POPIA standards.

Here is how it works in practice:

Your staff use a single interface that looks exactly like the tools they already know. Behind it, prompts route through the Nymbis API gateway under enterprise agreements that prohibit training use. High-sensitivity work stays on Gemma 3, hosted entirely within South Africa. When using frontier models, sensitive data is converted into a nonsensitive digital replacement that maps back to the original. The raw data never leaves the platform.

Through the admin panel, you assign model access by team or individual and configure dedicated models with defined scopes, so staff only work within the boundaries you set. Connect those environments to your internal knowledge base and the model pulls answers from your documentation, not the open internet. Staff get a tool that works. IT controls how it works.

The analytics panel shows which users are sending messages to which models, and in what volume. You can see at a glance whether the right tools are being used by the right people.

Your 30-minute session with the Nymbis team covers four things:

You will get a walkthrough of how data flows through Cuumulo. Where it is processed, which data centres it lives in, and how that compares to what happens when your staff use consumer AI tools today.

You will see the live interface. It looks exactly like the tools your staff already use, which means adoption friction is low. You will see how model selection works, and what your staff actually experience when they log in.

You will see how to assign which staff can access which models, how to build a custom AI environment on top of any base model, and how to connect it to your internal documentation.

You will see the analytics panel, which shows which users are sending messages to which models and in what volume. At a glance, you can confirm whether the right tools are being used by the right people.

Cuumulo Frequently Asked Questions

Your data is stored on the Nymbis Cloud, within South African borders across Teraco data centres in Johannesburg. It never leaves the country. Each organisation gets its own dedicated, isolated environment, so your data is never co-mingled with another company's.

No. Cuumulo operates under enterprise agreements with each model provider that explicitly prohibit your data from being used for training. Unlike consumer AI tools, where the terms allow your inputs to be used for model improvement, Cuumulo's enterprise terms ensure your data stays yours.

Your company data, uploaded files, and knowledge base are stored on Nymbis Cloud servers within South Africa. When your team sends a prompt to a frontier model, only tokenised metadata is passed to the external model. The raw data stays within the Cuumulo environment. High-sensitivity work should be directed to the locally hosted Gemma model, where nothing leaves South Africa at all.

Through the admin panel, you create user groups and assign model access at the group level. Individual users can be given granular permissions: access to the knowledge base, file upload, web search, and more, each independently enabled or disabled. You can also integrate with Microsoft 365 Entra via SSO for organisations already on that stack.

Yes. Cuumulo supports white-labelling. You can rename it, apply your company colours, and change icons so staff experience it as an internal platform rather than a third-party product. This reduces adoption friction and reinforces that AI usage is happening within a governed environment.

Cuumulo comes in two packages.

Cuumulo AI Core runs Google's Gemma 3 model, hosted entirely within the Nymbis Cloud with all processing contained within South African borders.

Cuumulo AI Pro gives access to 10+ frontier models through a single interface, including GPT-5.5, Claude Opus 4, Gemini, DeepSeek Reasoner, and Veo 3.1.
